555 INSPIRATION
Reading Material To Charge You Up:
The Bible. More specifically, the Life Application Study Bible. It makes it easy to read, like a novel. I've never read it before and now I'm more than 3/4 way through! Every Christian ought to read it all before they go 'round shoving it down other people's throats. At the very least, we need to teach like Jesus taught, and He didn't preach hate. Teach Peace!
"Letter From Birmingham Jail", by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This IS a civil rights movement, except we are not being treated near as badly as they were back then - believe it - it was BAD. For shame.
Any book about the thousands of uses for hemp - it will astound you! Look for author Chris Conrad.
Drug Crazy, by Mike Gray. The drug war in a nutshell, easy to read.
How Our Drug Laws Have Failed and What We Can Do About It, by Judge Jim Gray. More technical - a great inside view from an All-Around Great Guy! Judge Gray ran for U.S. Senate in California last year and his main message was about bringing an end to the drug war. Everyday he openly criticized our drug policies, so let that give you courage. I know we are not all judges, but the more we little people speak up, the more powerful we become.
Marijuana And Medicine, by The National Institute of Medicine. VERY technical - great for lovers of science!
Shattered Lives, by Mikki Norris, Chris Conrad and Virginia Resner. True stories, complete with photos, of victims of our drug war. Brace yourself for THIS ride, but everyone should know what our government is really doing to some of our weakest citizens. You can get a copy and more solid stuff like it at the Cannabis Consumers Campaign site, link below.
The Emperor Wears No Clothes, by Jack Herer. Tons of info!
Saying Yes: In Defense of Drug Use
by Jacob Sullum, senior editor of Reason magazine.
Read about Rosa Parks, the dark brown woman (We are ALL just different shades of brown, sez Bill Nye the Science Guy - Science RULES!) who bravely refused to stand at the back of the bus. There were no more seats when a white guy got on, so Blacks were supposed to get up and stand so white folk could sit. Her feet hurt and she wasn't going to be tortured like that (I can truly relate to severe foot pain).
Her courage started a boycott of the bus system that resulted in that stupid law getting wiped off the books! IT CAN HAPPEN AGAIN IF WE ARE WILLING TO SACRIFICE SOME TIME AND STAND UP FOR OURSELVES!! But WHO can we boycott?? Hmmm...... If you get an idea, share it! For now, just let your congresscritter know you want cannabis to be legally regulated, thanks.
A Drug War Carol - www.adrugwarcarol.com. A comic-book style book that puts all the history of the drug war and what these laws really do to us in PERFECT CONTEXT. You have to read it to believe it.
Read our CONSTITUTION! Look for Constitution classes taught by Michael Badnarik (This guy is a Constitution SCHOLAR!).

MOTIVATIONAL TIDBITS!
Yes, I CANnabis!!!
#1 Thing to Remember: If you have no victim, YOU ARE NOT A CRIMINAL! WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS!!!
#2 Thing to Remember: Marijuana IS safer than cigarettes or alcohol and MUST be re-legalized for adults!
#3 Thing to Remember: Congress holds keys to our laws, and we CAN order them to use those keys!
"I know you are asking today, 'How long will it take?' I came to say to you this afternoon, however difficult the moment, however frustrating the hour, it will not take long because the truth pressed to earth will rise again. How long? Not long, because no lie can live forever."
"Those in power will not willingly give up their power, and those who are oppressed will not be handed their freedom."
-- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Each one helps the other, saying to one another, 'Take courage!'"
-Isaiah 41:6
"First, they ignore you. Then, they mock you. Then, they fight you. Then, you win."
-- Gandhi
(Notice how hard they are fighting us now, so the next step is right around the corner!)
"If you tell your children that marijuana is a hard drug, they likely to conclude that hard drugs are like marijuana"
-Efficacy Online, www.efficacy-online.org
The drug war isn't winnable ~ it's fundable.
"You can get over an addiction but you can never get over a conviction."
-- Jack Cole, Retired undercover police officer
www.dpft.org
"The Drug War is a government jobs program."
-- Loretta Nall, Founder of The Marijuana Party.
"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends on his not understanding it."
-- Upton Sinclair
"If you go to one demonstration and then go home, that's something, but the people in power can live with that. What they can't live with is sustained pressure that keeps building, organizations that keep doing things, people that keep learning lessons from last time and doing it better the next time."
-- Noam Chomsky, "What Uncle Sam Really Wants", p. 98
The more laws there are, the more oppressed the people will be.
The more prohibitions there are, the poorer the people will be.
Ending the drug war would put illegal drug dealers out of business, instantly. That goes for all the terrorists who make their money from drugs, too. Please study the history of Alcohol Prohibition - the two are nearly identical, only THIS time, the bad guys are making WAY more money, so they won't give it up as easily. Ignorance really IS expensive!
"Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty."
-- anti-slavery activist Wendell Phillips, in a speech before the Massachusetts Antislavery Society, 1852.
God made pot, man made beer. Who do YOU trust?
I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God, I will do."
--Edward Everett Hale
We know how safe cannabis is. We know how therapeutic it is. We know how many people are suffering under these inhumane laws. We know we have the truth on our side. WE CAN STOP THIS!
Cannabis activists are NOT a threat to public health and safety, but they ARE a threat to Big Government's desires.
Thanks to all of us, change is occurring, and it will continue. Consider the daunting task in front of the women suffragettes in the 1850s. We will win.
-- Ethel Rowland, Friend of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition
"It's a sorry, sorry state of affairs when people fear having their property taken by cops rather than criminals.''
-- Joseph Elford, an attorney with Americans for Safe Access
Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.
-- Thomas Paine, "The American Crisis," 1776.
A Poem from the era of Alcohol Prohibition:
Prohibition is an awful flop.
We like it.
It can't stop what it's meant to stop.
We like it.
It's left a trail of graft and slime
It don't prohibit worth a dime
It's filled our land with vice and crime,
Nevertheless, we're for it.
--Franklin P. Adams of the New York World
"Teach the youth the truth, then they won't abuse....when we tell them lies is when they make the trys"
--Sister Somayah Kambui
MOVIES
Gandhi - A MUST-SEE!!
Any movie about Jesus Christ - The Passion will shake you to your core.
Any movie about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Braveheart
Observe what these people did for freedom, and how much people sacrificed and suffered to get it. We won't have to suffer even an 1/8th that much - GAINING OUR FREEDOM IS MERELY A FEW CALLS AND EMAILS AWAY! There's no way I can be any clearer: When we all call, laws will shift. PLUS, there is no risk in calling! Isn't this easier to do than, say, getting shot at??
V for Vendetta - One powerful movie on winning back Liberty. Intelligent and suspensful!
I didn't like the violence, because when I see people getting killed on screen, I can't help but think of the loved ones who'd be suffering if they were real killings (What if that were MY son/husband/dad?). Still, the message is for everybody who truly loves FREEDOM!
FOR MORE FUN:
The Blues Brothers, the original. Just IGNORE the ending - What a BAD ending (Especially in OUR case) to such a SUPER movie! Poor guys!!!
Without A Paddle. FUNNY! Not only does it show how crooked law enforcement benefits from prohibition, the friends in the movie are really GOOD friends to each other. *snif snif* Heartwarming!
